Paper Submission
The EDBT 2000 Proceedings will appear in
Springer's Lecture
Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.
For electronic paper submissions please use this Web interface.
For abstract submissions please use this Web interface.
Panels
EDBT 2000 is seeking proposals for panels that discuss important
issues of the database field. Note that panels should purposely
not be just a sequence of short presentations by the
panelists, but really try to create controversy and lively debate,
including the audience.
For a panel proposal, it is mandatory that the majority of planned
panelists have already committed themselves to personally participate
should the panel be accepted.
Please send panel proposals directly to the EDBT 2000 Panel &
Tutorial Chair Klaus Dittrich
(e-mail: panels@edbt2000.uni-konstanz.de).
Should you prefer to send your proposals in hardcopy form or FAX,
please use the following address:
Tutorials
EDBT 2000 is looking for high-quality tutorials covering
state-of-the-art topics that would be attractive for many conference
participants and/or targeted at an audience with an industry background.
Potential speakers must be experienced in giving this
kind of presentations. They will be required to provide comprehensive
tutorial notes prior to the event. EDBT 2000 solicits half-day and
all-day tutorials.
Please contact the EDBT 2000 Panel & Tutorial Chair Klaus Dittrich
(e-mail: tutorials@edbt2000.uni-konstanz.de)
should you plan to give a tutorial at EDBT 2000.
Should you prefer to send your proposals in hardcopy form or FAX,

Industry & Applications Sessions
EDBT 2000 encourages active participation from industry. To make
it a worthwhile experience and to foster closer interaction among all
participants, EDBT 2000 plans theme-centered industrial and application
sessions to which primarily industrial people will contribute.
Industrial submissions can be either extended 5-page abstracts or
short papers of approx. 10 pages. They should stress experiences in
the area of the general conference theme, that relate to the
development of products or their applications, and are sufficiently
novel to be of interest to a broader community.
Please submit I&A track papers electronically (ASCII, HTML,
RTF, PostScript, and PDF formats are acceptable) via e-mail to the EDBT 2000
Industrial & Application Sessions Chair Peter Dadam (e-mail: IA-track@edbt2000.uni-konstanz.de).
Should you prefer to send your session proposals in hardcopy form or FAX,
please use the following address:
Demos
Besides the scientific and industrial program, EDBT 2000
intends to host a forum for demonstrations of software
prototypes from universities and research laboratories related to
database management systems research and practice.
EDBT 2000 will provide the necessary infrastructure to establish IP
connections to/from the conference site.
Please send e-mail to Torsten Grust
(e-mail: demos@edbt2000.uni-konstanz.de)
prior to October 1, 1999 if you intend to
demonstrate software in the context of the EDBT 2000 Demos session.
The participants of the Demos session are expected to submit a
concise survey of their prototypes (no more than two A4 pages, font
size 11pt, PostScript and PDF formats are acceptable, submit no later than
mid-December 1999). The surveys will be
collected to form a separate Demos proceedings.
